Antrim Squad Off to European Juniors

The resurgence of Antrim Handball continues as 8 Antrim juvenile handballers fly out to take part in the European Juvenile tournament in Menaldum in the Netherlands.

The Antrim squad consists of Aoibhin Fallon (Naomh Gall, 13&U), Cliona McGinley (Naomh Éanna 13&U), Sophia Brown (O’Donovan Rossa, 15 &U), Meadhbh Gallagher (O’Donovan Rossa, 15 &U), Adam McCahey (O’Donovan Rossa, 13&U), Darragh McIlroy (Naomh Éanna, 13&U), Niall Lemon (Naomh Éanna, 15&U) and Shea Bell (Naomh Éanna, 15&U) and they will be joined on the trip by Cork’s Cian Dunning (17&U). Singles tournament runs on Friday 6th January and they will also be competing in the doubles tournament on Saturday 7th January. Lead by head coach Fiona Shannon, who has amassed a wealth of experience in the European and World stages, this will be the first ever Irish contingent to the championships. The first of many!
